What is a choker and how is it different from a traditional collar?

A choker (or necklet) is a type of short necklace that fits snugly around the neck, generally with a length between 35 and 40 cm. Unlike a traditional necklace —which falls over the collarbone or chest—, the choker hugs the neck creating a stylish, modern and sophisticated. It is an iconic piece that flatters the figure, visually lengthens the neck and adds a chic, timeless touch to any look.
\nHow long is a choker and how do I know if it will fit me?

Our chokers have a usual length of between 28 and 40 cm, fitting the contour of the neck. To make sure it fits perfectly:

  • Measure your neck: Wrap a tape measure around your neck, right where you want the choker to rest, loosely.
  • Add 2-4 cm: Add these centimeters to the neck measurement to get a comfortable fit (not too tight or too loose).
  • Adjustable extenders: Most of our chokers include extenders of 3-5 cm to customize the length according to your preference.

How can I combine a choker with other layering collars?

Layering with a choker is one of the most current and flattering trends. We recommend following these guidelines to achieve a perfect look:

  • Choker as a base: The choker (28-38 cm) acts as starting point, hugging the neck.
  • Add a princess necklace (40-42 cm): To create the second layer, resting on the collarbone.
  • Add a longer necklace (50+ cm): Ideally with a personalized pendant or stone to add depth.
  • Mix finishes: Combining gold and silver is completely acceptable and creates a modern, personal look.

It's the perfect formula to achieve a statement, elegant and very on-trend.

What type of necklines and occasions do chokers combine best with?

Chokers are extremely versatile and suit a variety of styles:

  • Ideal necklines: Strapless styles, deep V necklines, boat necks, off-the-shoulder styles, and halter necks. They enhance the piece and flatter the figure.
  • Casual occasions: Basic tees, minimalist tops, and urban looks with jeans.
  • Special occasions: Party dresses, formal events, weddings, and elegant dinners —the choker adds a sophisticated and chic touch.
  • Summer looks: Perfect with bikinis, lightweight dresses, and spaghetti-strap tops.

A timeless piece that works both day and night
Are they water-resistant? Can I shower with them?

It depends on the material you choose. Most of our chokers are made from water-resistant stainless steel, which means you can shower, swim or go to the gym with them without worrying about them oxidizing or losing their shine. This feature is ideal for those who prefer to never take their choker off. We recommend rinsing them with fresh water after exposure to salt or chlorinated water to maximize their durability. If you choose a choker in Sterling Silver (without gold plating) you can also shower, swim or go to the gym with them without worrying about them tarnishing or losing their shine. We recommend cleaning it occasionally with a special silver polishing cloth to keep it looking like new. In the case of choosing a gold-plated silver choker we recommend avoiding contact with water to keep the gold plating looking like new.
