Today with all the time in the world I have decided to answer your question.
Although many of you already know me, I am Ana, I am 29 years old, I studied law, and when I finished, I decided to create Banoffee, my dream. The brand was born in 2014, after years and years of creating bracelets and necklaces, selling them, and giving them to family and friends. One day, a friend, to whom I owe a lot, told me, Ana, why don't you sell everything you make? It's beautiful and I'm sure it will be successful. So I did.
As for the name, the Banoffee pie is a dessert of English origin made of bananas and dulce de leche combined with a base of crushed cookies and butter. If you have not tried it and you like sweets, I recommend it, you will love it!
Well, I decided to call the brand Banoffee because I love the sweet, the Banoffee pie is one of my favorite desserts, and I wanted to give it a fun and unique name.
You may also wonder why an elephant, the answer is the same, I love elephants. The elephant is an animal symbol of good luck, wisdom, fortune, loyalty, and protection to the family and intelligence. In addition, for Hindus it is a symbol of blessing for new projects, ideal values for my project, right?
As you can see, I didn't think too much about it, and I decided to combine the three things I like the most: jewelry, candy, and elephants.
Once I knew what to call the brand, I created an Instagram account @banoffee_bcn and started uploading photos of the little things I was making in my spare time. From time to time I received messages asking for prices, where to buy, etc. I couldn't believe it and I was so excited every time I made a design for one of you, I packaged it and took it to the post office so that it could be delivered to your homes!
And so time went by, more and more designs, more and more products, more and more messages, more and more happiness.
Eyeglass hangers
It is at the moment when I incorporated the product of the eyeglass hangers that Banoffee made a 360-degree change. The reason: another important person in my life encouraged me to make them and to fight for what I loved the most in the world, for what gave me so much joy, for what drove me crazy, for what stole all my time, for my brand, Banoffee. It was at that moment that I decided to make the brand something more serious.
Customized computer cases
And soon our star product arrived.
So many of you write to us saying, I hadn't found a "cute" computer case until I discovered you. And that's exactly what happened to me. I wanted a cute computer case for my everyday life and I couldn't find one anywhere, so I thought it could be a great idea. Nowadays we customize and design whatever you ask for, and we couldn't be more thrilled when you come to our shop or send us an email asking for a "different" design. We love it when you act like designers!
It was at this time when, with a lot of hard work and effort, I was gaining followers on Instagram, I had many orders, and I decided to leave my career as a lawyer and go for my dream, to have my own company.
Swimwear collection
But I was missing one last thing....
But I was missing one last thing....
Some people die for shoes, some people die for bags or sunglasses, I die for bikinis. I'm passionate about them, and my dream had always been to create a small swimwear collection. And so I did, I bought a sewing machine, thanks to youtube tutorials I learned how to use it and I sewed a bikini and two swimming costumes. You can imagine that they weren't the best, but that's how my interest in designing came about. I went crazy looking and searching for fabrics, shapes... It was in 2018 when we created our first swimwear collection. Basic designs that fit everyone with special fabrics.
With the website up and running, I opened a showroom in Barcelona, a small place where I could show all my products, be able to attend to you, and meet you in person. We have points of sale in other locations, where you can see a sample of our work.
Today the team has expanded and I couldn't be happier. Thanks to the people who work with me every day and have decided to make Banoffee their dream too.
